    I'm confused, I guess the CRISTINA magazine was wrong. Thalia's movie didn't change the name to her movie. But it doesn't matter because there was a press release today. Here it is, take a look for yourself--

    'Mambo Cafe' Wraps Principle Photography; Kushner-Locke to Distribute Internationally

    LOS ANGELES----The Kushner-Locke Co.announced today that the romantic comedy ``Mambo Cafe,'' starring Latin superstar Thalia, wrapped principal photography. The theatrical feature was written and directed by Reuben Gonzalez. The film was produced by Brad Wyman and Ross Mark. A-Pix is set to distribute the film in the U.S. Phoenix World Investments (PWI), a Kushner-Locke affiliate, will
    distribute the film throughout Latin America and K-L will distribute to the balance of the
    international territories. K-L will be showing a promo of the film at the NATPE market next
    week in New Orleans.

    ``Mambo Cafe'' is the story of the Benitez family, Puerto Rican immigrants, in Spanish
    Harlem. The family has fallen on hard times and may have to close down their once
    popular restaurant. The family's spoiled daughter Nydia (Thalia) comes home for summer
    break from Boston University to find her family in near ruin. At the urging of her father and
    street-smart brother, Nydia agrees to participate in an offbeat scheme to make the
    restaurant ``hot'' once more, even make it the most popular eatery in New York. The novel
    plan mixed with the mob and a blue blooded Boston Brahmin boyfriend, who thinks Nydia
    is from a wealthy family, causes a wildly comic sequence of events ending in near disaster.
    In the process Nydia reconnects with her ethnic roots, gaining a new appreciation for her
    family and drops her high-class socialite act.

    •  Thalia declared that the only contractsa she maintains at this moment is the one with Televisa and "el que tendra con su nueva discera." I don't know if that means she will be moving to a different record company or maybe renewing her contract with EMI Latin.

    Okay here is the exciting news. Thalia's novela has been confirmed to be shown in .......Here we go
    Mexico (of course), US, Europe, Asia. It willl air Feb. 22 in the space that El Privilegio de Amar is using at the moment(I suppose in Mex. because that hasn't aired in the US yet).
    Negotiations have reached the  Phillipines, Indonesia, and Tailand for airing it but it will have it's premiere in Mexico.
    Televisa will present Rosalinda as the most important production of the year in the Feria de Eventos which will be held in New Orleans, US from the 25- 29 of January.
    It was said that Thalia didn't want to go back to Televisa until she would meet the producer (salvador mejia) , know the story, and her character.It has been a while since her last novela but she wanted to make sure that her new character would be different than her Marias.
    In Rosalinda, her love is not the wealthy,unreachable, type but more of a son who had his wealthy father murdered. There is a conflict between the 2 families. Rosalinda is the daughter of a presidaria(??). Rosalinda works at a small flower shop with her friend (her friend is the grand daughter of the owner (Rene Munoz) of the shop ).
    Her mother, Yolanda Miranda, was with her when filming the novela along with Bety Sheridan.
    Thalia was curious to see her work so she took small peeks in the camera just to check on her work. A big crowd of Thalia fans were at the spot where the filming was occuring(Distrito Federal and el puerto de Veracruz) to ask for her auotgraph and to cheer her on.

    There are more pictures for what was known as "Salsa Cafe" to "Mambo Cafe." It has now again changed to "Nydia Chuletas" as named  in this magazine.

     "Las Marias quedaron atras. Ahora 'Nydia' en 'Nydias Chuletas' y su papel de boricua, siendo mexicana, tiene a los puertorriquenos ecahndo chispa.
    Curiosamente en el gion original la protagonista tenia que ser rubia, sin embargo cuando escogieron a Thalia decidieron dejarla con su color de pelo original y utilizando su vestimiento usual, sexy y ajustada."
    It is said that many people criticized her-"No sabe actuar y no sabe ingles"(She can;t act nor does she know English).
    At first when she went to audition for a role in the movie, she was rejected but then later on accepted for the leading role. Yeah!!!!

    Facts that you should know

    -Nydia Chuletas es una pelicula independiente y de bajo costo con un presupesto de $1 million de dolares. Los actores, inclusive Thalia, recibieron un pago minimo de $505 dolares diarios.
    (The movie is low-budget which invested less than $1 million. All of the actors, including Thalia, received the minimum pay of at least $505 per day.)

    -La filmacion, realizada en 24 dias y con un harario de 6:00 AM hasta la madrugad, tuvo lugar en la Quinta Avenida de New York en pleno invierno bajo lluvia y neblina y en un restaurante al cual se le cambio el nombre a Mambo Resaturant.
    (The film which took 24 days with a schedule from 6:00 AM to midnight, took place on Fifth Ave. in new York in mid-winter. It rained and the weather was pretty bad. However Thalia was inside of the restaurant which had its named changed to Mambo Restaurant)

    -A pesar de que para los hispanos Thalia es una estrella, en el set no tenia camerino sino un rincon semiprivado.
    (Although Thalia is a Star in the Hispanic world, on the set she didn't have her own dressing room but instead a small semi-private corner)
